Traditionally, treating one half of a mile of road with Perma-Zyme takes one day, but this will depend on factors such as the construction crew’s ability, water availability, etc.
For the first Perma-Zyme application, we recommend a length of half a mile or less. After building familiarity with Perma-Zyme, you can add length.
Below is an example timeline of the unpaved road and pad construction process with Perma-Zyme:
Day 1 - Rip up the soil, presoak, and form large windrows. Let them sit overnight.
Day 2 - Unfold windrows, apply water and Perma-Zyme to achieve optimum moisture, shape surface, and compact the treated soil.
Day 3 - Allow soil to dry
Day 4 - Open the area to light, slow-moving traffic.
Day 5 - Open the area to regular traffic if the soil is fully dry.
For detailed instructions of each step, see the APPLICATION PROCEDURE article for unpaved road and pad construction.
