Superficial Cracking

Superficial cracks may appear in unpaved surfaces after a Perma-Zyme treatment. Here's why and how to fix it.

Why Is Superficial Cracking Appearing?

Small, superficial cracks commonly appear because the soil expanded when it was moist, then contracted once it dried.

How to Fix Superficial Cracking

Most Perma-Zyme users choose not to fix small to moderate amounts of superficial cracking. If it is necessary to fix:

1. Wet the soil with a Perma-Zyme and water dilution (1:1,000).

2. Compact the soil with a smooth wheel roller with the vibratory function turned on.

3. Finish compacting the soil with the smooth wheel roller with the vibratory function turned off.

4. Let the soil thoroughly dry prior to allowing traffic on the area. If possible, keep the road closed for at least 24 hours, then allow only light traffic traveling at low speeds for the next 48 hours.
